Grace, Awareness, and Yoga
‘In the end, only three things matter: how much you loved, how gently you lived, and how gracefully you let go of things not meant for you.’
Grace is a quality that comes from practicing awareness. To cultivate grace is to cultivate equanimity, detachment, and surrender.
A regular yoga practice teaches us to actively and physically surrender to a posture. Surrendering doesn’t mean giving up. When we surrender we learn to work with, and not against our limitations. We continue to put in the work while conserving our breath, posture, and grace.
This practice helps us create new thinking patterns and eventually teaches us to journey in grace. When facing limitations in our physical world, we let those limitations bring us to a state of self-study, where we can create internal space and take action that comes from within and from our most authentic self.
